The North Canton Homeschool Co-Op exists as a ministry to serve the homeschool community local to North Canton, Ohio, and the surrounding areas.
We offer classes for Kindergarten-High School. We also offer Pre-K, Preschool, and Nursery services for younger siblings of registered K-12 children.
The NCHC has been in existence since early 2020 to meet the needs of a growing homeschool population. It started with just 6 families of children in preschool-3rd grade meeting in a home for art, science experiments, and free play with lots of socialization. It has since moved to a local church.
We now offer several classes once a week for children nursery-12th grade. The emphasis of class offerings is on science and art, but there are several electives offered as well, including languages, writing, Bible/religion, creative builds, and STEAM.
NCHC currently serves upwards of 70 families in the general Northeast Ohio area with families traveling from south of Canton and north of Akron. The long-term hope is that the NCHC will be a jumping off point for families to gain the confidence to start their own co-ops in their communities at home. The farther we can spread our homeschool community support, the better the community is as a whole.
